Light-burned magnesia powder is also called sintered magnesia. It is made from magnesite, brucite, or magnesium hydroxide produced by the reaction of sea water and lime milk, and is calcined at high temperature with strong hydration ability. Mainly used for making basic refractory materials, such as magnesia bricks, magnesia-aluminum bricks, and for laying steel furnace bottoms with many impurities.
