Mid-grade magnesia is also called sintered magnesia. Magnesium hydroxide is made from magnesite, brucite, or the reaction of seawater with lime milk. It is calcined at high temperature and has strong hydration ability. Mainly used for making basic refractory materials, such as magnesia bricks, magnesia-aluminum bricks, and for laying steel furnace bottoms with many impurities.
