Recycled magnesia, also known as sintered magnesia, is produced by high-temperature calcination of magnesium hydroxide obtained from magnesite, brucite, or by reacting seawater with lime milk. It has strong hydration ability. Mainly used for making alkaline refractory materials, such as magnesia bricks and magnesia alumina bricks, and for laying steel furnace bottoms with high impurities.
